What is Research? Lecture
What is Research?
Empiricism - Scientific research, experiments and observing.
Quantitative - Lead to data & facts. Numbers & charts. Certain style may occur more than once.
Qualitative - Interviews, constantly doing qualitative research, talking to others. Organise it!
Action Research
Academically figuring the process of reserach. A way of defining of what we do in a practice based research. Constant reflection & refinement.
Methodology.
Method - A way of proceeding about something in a systematicor logical manner.
Methodology - The science of method, employed in a particular activity.
Some Methodologies
There are many ways to approach a topic and you always have an idea that you want to do. What you are doing is that you are selecting a method due to others don't seem to make sense. Your picking a methodology without thinking about it. Therefore you are making EPISTEMOLOGICAL decisions.
Epistemology - Ways of thinking about thinking & selecting different ways about selecting aspect and knowing that one reason will take you to a certain answer.
